[Silver Mountain] Zinfandel 15% 750ml (Red Wine)
INTENSE, FLAVORFUL AND HARMONIOUS
Silver Mountain is intense red in the glass with elegant violet reflexes. In the aroma you are met with ripened forest fruit, an intense sweetness and a wonderful spiciness from the barrel ageing. In the mouth, the wine is experienced as full-bodied and well-balanced. You are bombarded by ripe red berries, a deliciously sweet element and a small bite of spice which completes the expression.
The grapes are harvested at full maturity from the hills in the Lodi region, where the Zinfandel grape has optimal growing conditions. After harvesting the grapes are brought to the winery where they are lightly pressed before undergoing a traditional fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The temperatures during fermentation are kept at 22-26 degrees to retain the grapes' fresh fruit and typicity in the final wine. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is aged for 2-3 months in a blend of American and French oak barrels to concentrate its flavour and achieve the desired balance. Lodi (pronounced Lohd-eye) is a Californian wine region located in the hills around the town of the same name. More specifically, the region lies close to the Sacramento River, east of San Francisco. Lodi is therefore located in the Californian Central Valley wine district, a region characterised by well-drained soil and an almost Mediterranean climate. The region offers cool morning mists, hot daytime hours with plenty of sunshine and chilly nights; optimal conditions for the Zinfandel grape, from which this wine is produced. The climatic conditions in the region mean that the grapes ripen slowly and therefore achieve a high intensity, a beautiful intense colour and a wonderfully fruity character.
