Lately, actually since I turned 47, I've discovered anger has many faces and names; certainly more than it used to have: the neighbor who didn't say hello, my kid who took so long to leave the house, my assistant who called too many times when she should know the answers, the traffic light, the man from the coffee place who was just obnoxious, the woman at the supermarket… why are they all so annoying?!
The root of it lays in the two female hormones, estrogen and progesterone. When we are in our 40s, our body gradually makes less of these, which leads to hormonal imbalance. That leads to irregular periods, insomnia - and makes us more irritable.
So, the next time you get in a hissy fit, know it's not you - it's your hormones. Being aware of this will make it easier for you to handle the situation It is normal, you are not going crazy!
What do you say, are you ready to accept yourself?
