In your 40s, you suddenly realize you need something else entirely. And you know what?

When you got out of high school and decided you want to get rid of all those unneeded melted cheese sandwiches, you simply joined a running group. At 25 you wanted to try a little kickboxing. At 35 you grabbed a water bottle and went out for a walk with friends around the block, but only on weekends because who has the energy after work and the kids?

But in your 40s, you suddenly realize you need something else entirely. And you know what? It’s not just a feeling: our natural fitness starts declining, with the changes of our hormone levels and the irregular cycles. We get a little less flexible, and our bodies need strengthening activity – something that isn’t just aerobic. So, our next challenge isn’t necessarily climbing the Himalaya, but rather joining a yoga or Pilates group nearby. It strengthens our muscles (even those we didn’t believe existed), builds better posture, and will even improve our aerobics. So, go ahead and run – to yoga class, that is. J
