The way we see it

The ocular or visual system is the part of our central nervous system that gives us the ability to see, as well as to perform other functions related to vision. Comprised of our eyes, the optic nerve, the visual cortex and other organs, our visual system also helps us with the identification and categorization of the things we see, our ability to judge distance and depth, spatial awareness (our place in the world in relation to the things around us), movement, balance, posture, and much more.
